Leicester City v Crystal Palace Tips – Eagles will dominate at King Power Stadium
Two sides who have performed well above expectations this season will battle it out in the East Midlands this weekend
October 23rd, 2015
Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes have surprised everyone by enjoying a blistering start to their campaign and they are certainly showing little signs of slowing down. Following their great escape last season when they secured survival with weeks to spare, Leicester City are starting to prove a potent force in the top flight.
They opened the season with a 4-2 win over Sunderland and built upon that by embarking on an unbeaten run stretching five matches, their only reversal being a 5-2 defeat to Arsenal last month. Indeed, the King Power Stadium is experiencing something of a never-say-die approach and opposing teams are mindful that the Foxes can pull themselves back into any game at any given moment, as demonstrated at the weekend when they came back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw at the final whistle against Southampton.
The main problem is that while they have managed to find the back of the net nineteen times this season, they have also leaked sixteen at the other end and have yet to manage a single clean sheet in any of their Premier League matches.
Over at Selhurst Park, Alan Pardew has rejuvenated Crystal Palace since his appointment last season. The Eagles sit sixth in the table following five wins and four draws, their lofty position mainly a result of their impressive form away from home. Indeed, most sides thrive when in front of their home support and despite Selhurst Park boasting one of the best atmospheres in the top flight, the Eagles would appear to be at their best whilst on the road with wins in all but three of their last twelve away games.
Prior to that, Palace managed just nine wins from 61 away games, although they will take a positive from the fact that Leicester have leaked goals in every Premier League match this term. With the Eagles being comfortable away from Selhurst Park and given Leicester’s open style of football, we feel that Palace can exploit this to their advantage on Saturday afternoon. It will be a very close thing and we should be thoroughly entertained, but the Eagles look set to clinch their fourth Premier League victory of the season.
