Italy v San Marino Match Preview
San Marino won't be springing any upsets when they face Italy in an international friendly tonight
May 31st, 2017
Italy have been flying high recently and we don’t envisage the side having many problems in continuing their momentum when they lock horns with tiny San Marino in tonight’s international friendly. The Italians head into this match on the back of a seven-game unbeaten run with five wins in that time and we have little reason to believe that it won’t be a sixth win at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.
Ciro Immobile has found the back of the net five times during Italy’s unbeaten run and the Lazio striker will be optimistic of his chances of adding to his tally by scoring tonight against San Marino and there is every chance that the likes of Andrea Belotti, Eder and Lorenzo Insigne will also add their names to the scoresheet this evening.
Gian Piero Ventura’s men will face Uruguay in an international friendly before they return to World Cup qualifying action four days later in what should be a relatively easy encounter with Liechtenstein.
The Azzurri should have few problems against San Marino tonight given that the visitors have lost every one of their previous fifteen outings with no goals in all-but-two of those defeats. This barren run looks set to continue this evening and with Pierangelo Manzaroli’s side finding the net just four times between them on the international circuit we don’t believe that they will find a way past the Italian rearguard at any point.
Italy are a mere 1/100 to win tonight and as such we’ll be going nowhere near the outright winner market, however with the last two meetings between the sides ending 4-0 to Italy, we’ll be expecting another emphatic victory for the hosts with 3-0 looking excellent value at 6/1 with Bet365.
