This is very much a must-win for both sides and with the first leg of this European Championship qualifier poised at 1-1, the Irish will be looking to make home advantage count in Dublin this evening.

The deadlock was broken in the first leg by Robbie Brady with a mere eight minutes left on the clock, however Ireland’s lead was short-lived and an Edin Dzeko goals just three minutes later saw the score tied at one apiece at the final whistle.

The Republic are nevertheless in a very strong position and their away goal could prove to be extremely important. Martin O’Neill’s side at least know that a victory in Dublin tonight would result in qualification for next year’s Euro 2016 finals and they start this match as firm favourites with Paddy Power offering 6/4 for the Republic of Ireland to win in front of what promises to be an extremely vociferous home support this evening.

Indeed, Ireland have enjoyed much success at home with just one defeat in a European Championships qualifier since 2003. Their current campaign has returned two wins and two draws, although with Ireland scoring just one goal in each of their last four qualifiers, we could be looking at an extremely tight encounter this evening. With this in mind, the Republic of Ireland to win 1-0 at 6/1 with Paddy Power seems like decent value to us.

Clearly, we can’t ignore the fact that Bosnia need to find the back of the net at some point to keep their qualification hopes alive and should they succumb to an early Irish goal, they will respond by throwing all they have at the home side. This should at least put to an end Ireland’s trend for low-scoring affairs.

Nevertheless, the momentum clearly favours the hosts tonight and with Ireland improving considerably throughout the qualifying campaign, we feel that they can grab themselves the result which they require in Dublin.

Naturally, we also need to look at goalscorers and out attention is immediately drawn to Wes Hoolahan who has proven himself to be an all-important part of the squad throughout the qualifying campaign. Wes Hoolahan is 21/4 with 888sport to score anytime tonight.
