Ronald Koeman may well be voted as Manager of the Season after steering Southampton into the top three of the Premier League and the Dutchman will also be eyeing an FA Cup run.

The Saints didn’t get past Ipswich with their first bite of the cherry and now have the tougher assignment of qualifying at Portman Road, although Koeman will be prepared to field another strong team for the replay.

“The United win will bring a lot of confidence to the players,” Koeman said. “We know this will be a tough game and I wasn’t happy about the replay because we already play a lot. It is a difficult week.

“But if we have started it like we have, then perhaps it is not so difficult.

“Of course, we would like to go on in the FA Cup, but that is not the most important thing – the most important thing is the league.

“But if the players are feeling well and they have good freshness, then I won’t change a lot.”

Ipswich are going great guns in the Championship and will feel like there’s nothing to lose from having a crack, with Sheffield United having dumped the Saints out of the Capital One Cup.

However, the Premier League side come into the match off the back of that excellent 1-0 triumph at Old Trafford and they can come on for the win here.
