Hull City v Crystal Palace tips: Toothless Tigers can manage a point against Eagles
Hull City desperately need a win but they will be grateful for a point this weekend
December 9th, 2016
We’re not yet half-way through the season but already the signs are clear that Hull City look destined to be one of the relegation battlers towards the close of the campaign. The turmoil both on-field and off-field has taken its toll and with nine defeats from their previous thirteen top-flight outings, we believe that the writing is already on the wall.
Mike Whelan will be a worried man and he certainly has an extremely tough time ahead of him although the bookmakers are cautiously optimistic that he will be given enough time to hatch a rescue plan with many firms going 9/1 in the ‘Next Premier League manager to be given the boot’ market. Nevertheless with the Tigers now second bottom in the Premier League table following the recent resurgence of Sunderland, Phelan is still very much in the firing line.
Clearly it hardly needs saying that three points would be most welcome amongst the home fans this weekend and such a result would give the Tigers a huge boost. Indeed we believe that they can manage something from this clash with a Crystal Palace outfit which are pretty dire away from home this season.
Palace’s 3-0 win over Southampton at Selhurst Park last weekend did much to ease the pressure from manager Alan Pardew’s shoulders, however the Eagles’ form on the road has been much cause for concern. With the Tigers managing four points from their last two games at the KCOM Stadium, we’ll be backing the hosts to get something for their troubles this weekend.
We’ll be stopping short of predicting a Hull City win on Saturday although we believe that they can grab themselves a valuable point in what looks set to be a pretty scrappy affair.
