Huddersfield are in high spirits at the moment, having clinched back-to-back victories in the second tier of English football. Wins over Charlton Athletic and Bolton Wanderers have lifted Town to 13th in the Championship table with just two points separating them from tonight’s opponents Nottingham Forest.

Emyr Huws scored a brace in the 4-1 win over a 10-man Wanderers side last weekend, Joel Lynch and Mustafa Carayol scoring the other two in a victory which boss Chris Powell reckoned should have been even more emphatic for his side.

“We scored four but it probably could, and should, have been more,” he said to BBC Sport.

“In the Championship you rarely have a 90-minute total performance but we got close to that with 85 minutes.

“If the players get anywhere near their potential they can be a real force.”

The Terriers boss will likely be without several key players for this match with Mark Hudson, Joe Murphy and James Vaughan all absent through injury, whilst loanee Jamie Paterson remains ineligible to play against his parent side.

Forest head into this clash on the back of a 2-1 home defeat to Middlesbrough on Saturday, however they put in a performance which was arguably better than those which resulted in back-to-back wins against QPR and Birmingham City earlier this month, boss Dougie Freedman insisting that it was the best display by his side since he took over from Stuart Pearce early this year.

Nevertheless, they face a Terriers side which is in confident mood following their two successive wins and we’ll be backing there home side to seal the points tomorrow, but only just.
