Germany v Italy tips – Gallant Azzurri can find a way to win
Italy can match the Germans for work-rate, with Antonio Conte set to steer them to the semi-final
July 1st, 2016
Italy have overcome some big obstacles to reach the quarter final stage of Euro 2016. Namely Belgium and Spain, the latter of whom were installed as tournament favourites after a group win against Turkey only to lose their next match to Croatia.
Antonio Conte is widely regarded as the best manager at Euro 2016 and it’s hard to disagree with that assertion considering that he’s also regarded to have a modest amount of quality attacking players.
The Azzurri are fit as butcher’s dogs, with Italy serving it up to Spain and they have a team spirit which is hard to break.
Germany are going to be tough cookies, with Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng absolute beasts who operate in front of Manuel Neuer.
The German style of playing is understood by the players, with Sami Khedira, Mesut Ozil and Julian Draxler fitting into the system. There is then Toni Kroos who can find space anywhere on the pitch.
However, Italy will have done their homework and it should be noted that a lesser Azzurri team did a number on the Germans four years ago. Therefore, we’ll take the supposed underdogs to find a way to win.
