Germany U21 v Spain U21 Preview & Tips
We're in for a treat when Germany face Spain in the European U21 Championships Final on Friday evening
June 29th, 2017
Two of the most entertaining sides in this year’s European U21 Championships collide in the final on Friday evening and in all honesty we couldn’t have wished for a more satisfying way to round off what has been an excellent tournament.
Spain will be making their third final appearance and will be confident of making it three triumphs on the bounce by edging past Germany in Krakow. Indeed Albert Celares’ men have impressed hugely in Poland with four wins from their four matches thus far and twelve goals scored during that time. Spain are unbeaten in their last thirteen outings and star player Saul Niguez will provide much of the inspiration for what looks set to be another Spanish victory.
Germany will have other ideas however although they went down 1-0 to Italy in their final group match and needed a penalty shoot-out to find a way past England U21 on Tuesday evening. Nevertheless the Germans have an abundance of talent within their ranks and they will be hopeful of welcoming back striker Davie Selke following his injury sustained in the clash with England.
This looks set to be a very evenly-fought encounter and we should see a few goals along the way given the abundance of attacking talent in both sides, however Spain have been the stand-out team in the competition and we envisage them lifting the European U21 Championship trophy at the end of the day. It will be a very close call though.
