Everton v Swansea City betting tips – Back Toffees victory
Everton will be confident of returning to winning ways against struggling Swansea
January 21st, 2016
It is quite simple – Should the Toffees harbour ambitions of claiming a Europa League berth, then they desperately need to start winning games. However obvious this may be, the fact is that Everton have won just three times in their last fifteen outings in the top flight and with no wins whatsoever in their last four games, things are not going as planned.
The Merseyside outfit can consider themselves unlucky not to have sealed the points against Chelsea last week – an offside goal from John Terry being allowed to stand – although Roberto Martinez’ side need to put this to the back of their minds as they look to return to winning ways against a Swansea City side who sit just a single point above the drop zone.
The visit of Swansea to Goodison Park will present the hosts with the ideal opportunity to seal the three points and put to an end a run of four home games without a win in the Premier League, although spirits in the away camp will be high following their surprise 1-0 win at home to Watford on Monday evening. The Swansea players will also be eager to impress new head coach Francesco Guidolin in his first game in charge, therefore we’re expecting a tough battle for the Toffees this weekend.
Saying that, we don’t really fancy Swansea’s chances that much and while Everton’s form at home hasn’t been nearly as good as recent seasons, they will prove too strong for a Swans outfit which have been struggling badly away from home turf with six points from ten away matches this season. Back Everton to win on Sunday at 7/10 with BetVictor.
They won’t have things their own way however and Swansea should get themselves on the scoresheet at some point, given that Everton have been struggling in defence with no other Premier League side conceding more goals at home. As such, a Swans goal would be no huge surprise and we’ll be going for an Everton win and both teams scoring at 11/4 with Sky Bet.
Clearly we also need to look at goalscorers and we shouldn’t look past Romelu Lukaku, the Belgian clearly the biggest threat to the Swans with twelve goals in his last fourteen games. Back Romelu Lukaku to score anytime at 23/20 with William Hill.
