Everton v Norwich City tips: Back Toffees goals at Goodison Park
The Canaries should prove a pushover for Everton in Tuesday evening's EFL Cup clash
September 19th, 2016
The final day of the 2015/16 season saw these two sides collide, the Toffees emerging as 3-0 winners at the final whistle. Since that latest meeting, Everton have appointed Dutchman Ronald Koeman as manager and strengthened their squad considerably with positive results.
Idrissa Gueye, Ashley Williams and Yannick Bolasie have arrived on Merseyside and they have helped steer the side into second place in the Premier League with four wins and a draw from their opening five league outings. They are having few problems finding the net with thirteen goals in their last five games and we believe that this will continue when Championship side Norwich City come to town on Tuesday.
Romelu Lukaku may be rested for this match and if this proves to be the case, Ross Barkley will be looking to prove his worth to Koeman. Arouna Kone will also be looking to add to his goal-tally following his brace against Yeovil in the last round of this competition.
Norwich have been returning some impressive performances this season although one would assume that manager Alex Neil will be according this competition less importance than the league campaign as he looks to steer his side back into the Premier League at the first time of asking.
The Canaries sit second in the Championship table after three back-to-back wins and this may force the Norwich boss to rest some key men for what doesn’t really look like a winnable match. This will also be Norwich City’s fourth outing in just ten days, therefore a defeat wouldn’t be seen as a massively upsetting result for a side which will see Promotion back to the Premier League as their main priority.
