City couldn’t have set their stall out with more style with two excellent 3-0 wins in their opening two games. Three points against West Brom were a given really, however the Citizens completely silenced their critics by putting three past champions Chelsea without reply and they have certainly hit the ground running as they look for their third Premier League title in five seasons.

Manuel Pellegrini has strengthened his side with the addition of Nicolas Otamendi from Valencia, taking their summer spending to over £100million.

The big question is, will they get anything for their money? As things stand, they are looking pretty good with five points separating them from a Chelsea side which has had a dreadful start to the season. Indeed, they could extend this lead should the Blues slip up against West Bromwich Albion in that earlier match.

Against Everton, City are unbeaten in their last four meetings and the visitors to Goodison Park will once again feature a  fearsome attack which will include Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Sergio Aguero.

Everton struggled to a draw in their opening game against newly-promoted Watford, however they bounced back in fine style to thrash Southampton 3-0 and will be confident of picking up from where they left off.

The Toffees are notoriously hard to break down at Goodison, although they will struggle against an attack-minded City side which have scored six without reply in their last two outings.  The attacking quality of City should prove decisive in this match, however the hosts will put up a fight and end Joe Hart’s impressive run of three successive Premier League clean-sheets.
