Everton v Aston Villa tips – tight game on the cards at Goodison Park
The Villans can make life difficult for Everton when the teams meet on Saturday
October 14th, 2014
Everton have played some cracking football this season although six points from seven games played means that Roberto Martinez is under a little bit of pressure for the first time since he took charge at Goodison Park.
The Toffees were massively unlucky to lose 2-1 at Old Trafford a fortnight ago, with David de Gea making a string of saves to deny Everton, although the Merseyside club are still searching for their first home win of the season.
We really can’t get excited about the 4/7 with Coral about an Everton win on Saturday, with Ross Barkley, Seamus Coleman, Kevin Mirallas and John Stones all missing in action.
The international break also causes disruption and means that Martinez will be checking the likes of Aidan McGeady and Steven Naismith for knocks considering the pair are among those players who featured for their country on Tuesday night.
Allied to this fact is Aston Villa are looking good on the road this season, claiming victories at Stoke and Liverpool already this term thanks to a blueprint which looks to utilise the pace of Gabby Agbonlahor.
The striker actually has a decent strike rate against Everton and the visitors aren’t the worst bet at 6/1 with bet365 although a better wager could involve a low-scoring encounter between the two sides.
Villa have won twice 1-0 on the road this term and there is a decent amount of emphasis on defending, with the Villans holding a dangerous Manchester City team at bay for eighty minutes a fortnight ago before losing 2-0.
