Dundee FC v Heart of Midlothian tips: Dark Blues and Jambos so share points at Dens Park
Hearts will be looking to make it into the top-three with a win on Tayside this evening
December 23rd, 2016
Robbie Neilson’s decision to leave Heart of Midlothian and move south to be boss of MK Dons has had profound implications at Tynecastle in that the jambos are now winless since his departure. Indeed the 2-0 win over Rangers in November was the last game with Neilson in charge and Hearts’ last outing against Partick Thistle ended all square at 1-1, a dismal result against a side pinned to the bottom of the Premiership table.
The Jambos took the lead against Thistle in the seventeenth minute thanks to the efforts of Bjorn Johnsen, however shortly after the break the Jags grabbed an equaliser and a share of the spoils was all that the Edinburgh side could manage.
This stalemate came on the back of a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Ibrox and Hearts now look more like a mid-table outfit than a side with genuine top-two ambitions.
This could change completely should the Jambos manage three points on Tayside this evening and victory could go a long way to ensuring that they don’t fall even further behind Rangers in the league table. Indeed a journey north to face a Dundee FC outfit which are struggling this season could prove excellent timing but the home side have clinched seven points from their previous three matches at Dens Park and will certainly be in no mood to sit back and let their opponents come at them.
Dundee’s home points may have been won against sides in and around the bottom half of the league table but we’re of the opinion that they can grab a share of the spoils this evening against a Jambos side which are struggling with a rough spell since the departure of their former manager.
