Derby County v Liverpool tips: Rams to take a battering
Derby County will be swept aside by a strong Reds side on Tuesday evening
September 19th, 2016
Many criticised Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for fielding a near full-strength in the last round of this competition, however the manner in which the Reds disposed of Championship side Burton Albion was proof enough that the German chose the best option on that occasion.
Indeed, this excellent win was immediately after the 2-0 defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor and it may have provided the spark from which Klopp’s men ignited their season with subsequent victories over Leicester City and Chelsea.
It may be far too early to confidently predict that the Reds will most a serious challenge on this season’s Premier League title although the side do enjoy having no European football to distract them from their league campaign. As such, Klopp may actually welcome a decent cup run and with the absence of a reason to rest any key players, we should see another full-strength Liverpool side take to the field in the East Midlands on Tuesday evening.
Derby County have endured an utterly miserable season so far with the Rams managing just two goals in their eight Championship games so far. The Rams sit 20th in the league table following a dismal start to the campaign with just a single victory to their name so far as well as three draws. As such, a couple of Liverpool goals should be enough to seal the handicap with Paddy Power going Evens for Liverpool -1 on the handicap market.
