Dagenham & Redbridge v Carlisle United tips – No reprieve for Daggers
Dagenham's return back to winning ways will be extremely brief
March 8th, 2016
Few Carlisle United away days involve less than a couple of hundred miles and this week is no exception. On Saturday afternoon they make a 700-mile round trip to Exeter City, however they must first travel to East London for the first of their mammoth journeys.
League Two basement boys Dagenham & Redbridge will welcome the Cumbrians to their Victoria Road ground tonight in what promises to be a closely fought match. The Daggers have been flirting with the relegation zone for much of the season and despite beating fellow relegation candidates York City 1-0 at the weekend, they still sit some seven points away from safety.
Things haven’t been much better for Carlisle United of late, Keith Curle’s men struggling with inconsistency for much of the season. At one point the Cumbrians sat relatively securely in the League two play-offs, however some recent disappointing results have left them three points outside the top six and they will be desperate to return to winning ways on their travels tonight.
They will be given some hope by the fact that tonight’s hosts have found the net just once in their last three outings, however they put two past Mansfield Town late last month and should manage to score against a Cumbrian outfit which have been struggling for clean sheets with none in their last four outings. Back Both Teams to score at 16/19 with 888sport.
Looking at goals, we also need to look at scorers and the first name which springs to mind is Derek Aasamoah, the Ghanaian striker finding the net eight times this season so far, his most recent against Morecambe less than two weeks ago when he scored less than four minutes after entering the fray at the Globe Arena. We’re backing Asamoah to score anytime at 11/5 with Coral, the same firm going 6/1 that he opens the scoring tonight.
These two sides should provide us with a cracker of a match, however Carlisle United should dominate against a Daggers side which have been struggling throughout the season.
