Crystal Palace v Swansea City tips: Big Sam to get his first Eagles win
Few problems lie in store for Crystal Palace when they face Swansea City at Selhurst park on Tuesday
January 2nd, 2017
Ok we’re only in January but this clash between Crystal Palace and Swansea City is very much a ‘six-pointer’. The Eagles waved goodbye to Alan Pardew following a dismal run which culminated in defeats to Manchester United and Chelsea, however new boss Allardyce has yet to get his first win with his new club. A stalemate with the Hornets was followed by a defeat to Arsenal on Sunday and depending upon other results the Eagles could have fallen into the relegation zone by the time this game starts.
The Eagles desperately need the three points on Tuesday evening and this match against bottom-of-the-table Swansea City couldn’t have come at a more opportune time. The Swans have lost each of their last four games in the Premier League with a mere two goals scored and thirteen leaked, therefore whoever takes over from recently-departed boss Bob Bradley certainly has his work cut-out.
Crystal Palace may not be on good form at the moment but it is pretty hard to see Swansea managing anything from this clash. The Eagles have been pretty poor at Selhurst Park of late but their recent defeats have been to top-five teams and Swansea City are certainly not the same calibre of opposition. Allardyce’s home debut looks set to end in a relatively comfortable victory which should provide the team with a building block upon which it can kick-start its season. Big Sam has yet to suffer relegation as a Premier League manager and he won’t be keen to surrender this proud record anytime soon.
