Crystal Palace v Sunderland tips – Jedinak can star for Eagles
Mile Jedinak has scored three goals in his last five games for Crystal Palace
October 30th, 2014
It’s hard to be too confident that either team can win Monday night’s clash at Selhurst Park, with Sunderland in a hole following an 8-0 demolition at Southampton before more defensive mistakes led to a 2-0 defeat at Sunderland.
Ten goals conceded in the past two games is never a good look and the Black Cats haven’t had too many good days at the office this season, especially on the road where the only points have come thanks to draws at The Hawthorns and Turf Moor.
Gus Poyet is entering the dreaded vote of confidence territory twelve months after replacing Paolo Di Canio and this match at Selhurst Park is unlikely to yield a much-needed three points considering Crystal Palace actually look OK under Neil Warnock.
Poor refereeing decisions from Mark Clattenburg saw the Eagles relinquish a two-goal lead against West Brom and Palace’s last home match saw them run Chelsea pretty close when losing 2-1 to the best team in the land.
However, Palace’s chances of victory is reflected in the relatively skinny odds and we will instead go for Mile Jedinak to find the net first seeing as the Eagles captain has scored in three of his last five matches.
The Aussie is on penalty duties for the London side and odds of 14/1 appear decent enough about a player who likes to get into advanced positions, as could be seen when scoring from open play against Leicester City.
