Crystal Palace v Manchester City Tips – Citizens will widen the gap at the top
A perfect start to the season for Manchester City will continue at Selhurst park on Saturday
September 11th, 2015
Four wins from four games. Ten goals scored without reply. What more could the City fans ask for? The Citizens have enjoyed a dream start to the season with 3-0 wins over Chelsea and West Brom and 2-0 victories against Everton and Watford, made all the better with main rivals Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea already dropping points in their opening four matches.
Can their title ambitions be dealt an early-season blow in South London on Saturday afternoon? It’s a huge ask for Palace to silence a jubilant City support at Selhurst Park but if anyone can, Pardew’s Eagles can.
Palace have surprised everyone this season with their three wins sending them to second in the league table. Following a 2-1 home defeat to Arsenal, they bounced back by returning back-to-back 2-1 Premier League wins against Aston Villa and reigning champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and as such, they will be brimming with confidence heading into this match.
City will prove to be a different kettle of fish however. The title favourites have been unstoppable this season and have utterly convinced in all of their games to date this term. Raheem Sterling has certainly been hugely influential in City’s victories, the 20-year-old midfielder opening the scoring in the last outing against Watford and we’ll be looking to him to break the deadlock at Selhurst Park tomorrow.
Nevertheless, the Eagles will put up a brave fight and will likely end City’s record of four straight Premier League clean sheets although the visitors will ultimately overcome and take with them the full spoils back to the Etihad.
