Jose Mourinho has always been a defensive manager so it was a surprise to see a 6-3 winning scoreline at Goodison Park earlier this season.

However, we’re unlikely to see Chelsea conceding three goals again this term and it appears that the Blues have now become a winning machine which also involves keeping things tight at the back.

Recent wins against Aston Villa, Sporting Lisbon and Arsenal mean that the title favourites haven’t conceded a goal in the last 330 minutes of football, with Crystal Palace likely to struggle to beat Thibaut Courtois on Saturday.

Chelsea lost this fixture 1-0 last season at a time when it appeared they could nick the title from Liverpool and Manchester City, although Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa have made them a good deal tougher and stronger.

William Hill go 2/5 about an away win at Selhurst Park although we’re happy to take a punt on the 6/5 about Chelsea winning to nil, with Coral offering that particular price.

John Terry benefits from not having to play international football, with Palace having managed to score just three times in their three home games this season.

Neil Warnock’s side drew a blank last time out at Hull and Fraizer Campbell will never be a prolific striker in the Premier League.

Expect this to be a walk in the (Selhurst) Park for a team determined to keep a stranglehold on the league so they can focus on European matters later in the season.
