Chile v Burkina Faso Match Preview and Tips
Will Chile slip-up against Burkina Faso on Saturday? We don't think so.
June 2nd, 2017
Chile’s preparations for the Confederations Cup in Russia this month continue on Saturday when they go head-to-head with Burkina Faso in what should on paper be a thoroughly one-sided international friendly and La Roja will be confident of increasing their momentum ahead of their trip to Russia.
Indeed this could well prove to be the game in which Alexis Sanchez writes history by becoming Chile’s all-time top goalscorer with the Arsenal star sitting alongside Marcelo Salas on some 37 goals in all of his international appearances to date. Should he find the net on Saturday then he will enter the record books and we’ll be backing him to do just that at the National Stadium on Saturday.
The Gunners forward heads into this weekend’s friendly having scored three times in the same number of appearances and with the hosts avoiding defeat on home turf in over a year, we’re of the opinion that their excellent record will remain intact when they welcome Burkina Faso to the Estadio Nacional.
Nevertheless Chile have kept just a single clean-sheet in six games and as such the visitors will be confident of getting their names onto the scoresheet this weekend and possible put to an end a three-game winless run.
Burkina Faso have lost three of their previous four games away from home but manager Paulo Duarte will be hoping for some inspiration from captain Charles Kabore. Will he get it? Possibly, although we’ll be stopping short of backing either side in what looks likely to be an extremely closely-fought affair and going for goals at both ends instead.
