Burnley v Everton tips – Toffees too strong for naïve Clarets
Sean Dyche’s team will still be looking for first Premier League win after facing Everton
October 24th, 2014
Everton may have been in Europa League action on Thursday but Roberto Martinez sensibly rested several first-team players for the goalless draw against Lille.
Seamus Coleman, James McCarthy and Romelu Lukaku were all left on the bench in France and the Toffees should claim three points at Turf Moor this weekend, with the trio likely to play a key role in any victory.
BetVictor offer 17/20 about the visitors winning the game and there is plenty to like about a team that soundly beat Aston Villa last weekend, while their last away game saw the Merseyside team throw the kitchen sink at David de Gea only to lose the game 2-1.
Everton still have aspirations of finishing in the top four this season despite a slow start, with Coleman bringing new life back to the team considering the Irishman is equally brilliant from a defensive point-of-view compared to an attacking one.
Betfair offer 20/1 about the right-back who has scored in each of his past two matches and this is the sort of game where he could feature on the scoresheet again, especially when you consider West Ham won 3-1 here last weekend.
Burnley are a 15/4 chance with bet365 and Dyche was hugely encouraged by the first-half performance against the Hammers where the Clarets did everything but score.
Danny Ings is back leading the attack and George Boyd looks to have been a useful acquisition but the bottom line is that nine goals have been conceded in the last three games and draws are no good to a team who have just four points on the board this term.
While Burnley are capable of scoring a couple of goals in this game, it might be at the expense of Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku causing maximum damage at the other end, with the former having made a long-awaited return from injury.
