Burnley v Derby County tips – Rams set to be raided at Turf Moor
Burnley look a good bet to win Monday’s clash against a Derby side who have lost their way
January 25th, 2016
There’s a big Championship clash taking place this evening, with Burnley eyeing the chance to stake third place in the table and challenge for those automatic promotion spots.
Sean Dyche has proved to be a wonderful manager at Turf Moor, with the Clarets having enjoyed automatic promotion two seasons ago and the Ginger Mourinho is setting about restoring the Lancashire club to the big time.
Signing Joey Barton raised few eyebrows although the midfielder has impressed in recent matches and Burnley are bidding for a fourth consecutive win against one of their main promotion rivals.
Derby looked to be in the box seat to land promotion a few weeks ago, although home matches against Reading and Birmingham have seen Paul Clement’s team hit the buffers, with one point taken from those respective matches.
Clement has called for some perspective after those two home games and we can expect a backs-to-the-wall performance this evening, with Derby looking to land at least a point against dangerous opposition.
However, it appears there could be a clash of egos in the dressing room and the momentum is certainly with a Burnley side who are playing some great football and have the division’s leading scorer in Andre Gray.
This is a settled team capable of doing the business against a Rams side featuring too many patchy performers at the moment, including Thomas Ince, Chris Martin and Jacob Butterfield.
