Bournemouth v West Brom tips – 6/4 Cherries have to be the pick
Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth set to claim the scalp of Premier League opponents tonight
October 28th, 2014
Bournemouth could yet be swapping divisions with West Bromwich Albion this season, with Eddie Howe continuing to improve the fortunes of the south coast club who are sitting fourth in the Championship table.
The Cherries achieved their best result of the season on Saturday when winning 8-0 at St Andrews against a beleaguered Birmingham side who had been reduced to ten men early in the game.
It means that Bournemouth have now won their last four matches and have to be backed at 6/4 to beat a Baggies side who will be showing several changes to the team who drew 2-2 at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Allan Irvine won’t be making this competition a priority considering that precious Premier League points are there to be snaffled, with the Bournemouth attacking boasting in-form strikers Callum Wilson and Brett Pitman.
Both were substituted during that thrashing of Birmingham and the former rates as a decent bet at 6/1 to score the first goal of this game.
Bournemouth have never reached the quarter finals of the Capital One Cup and it’s a challenge being relished by their manager.
Howe said: “It is a great incentive to us. The club has been hugely successful over the past two years and to potentially break a record which has stood since the competition started would be a remarkable achievement.”
“Hopefully, we can just enjoy it without the pressure of league points and it can be a really good occasion”
He added: “I watched them against Manchester United last week and thought they were excellent.
“They have been in good form. They are gaining in momentum as the season progresses and certainly have some useful front players so it will be a really good test.
“Hopefully, we can just enjoy it without the pressure of league points and it can be a really good occasion. I know it will be a stern test.”
