August 28th, 2015
Premier League new-boys Bournemouth have now sealed their first ever top-flight victory and they will be in high spirits heading into Saturday’s clash with Leicester City as they seek a second successive win.
No one said it was going to be easy and it certainly hasn’t been, however Bournemouth’s visit to West Ham last weekend ended with a hard-fought 4-3 win for the Cherries and following a midweek 4-0 victory over League Two side Hartlepool in the Capital One Cup, confidence will be sky-high at Dean Court.
Star striker Callum Wilson clinched a hat-trick in east London and Cherries boss Eddie Howe will be hopeful of building on that win and carrying the momentum into what will be an extremely tough assignment against a Leicester City side which has certainly impressed this season so far.
The Foxes were also in midweek Capital One Cup action and duly despatched Bury 4-1 on their way to the third round of the competition, however of more relevance is their Premier League record. Thus far, they have made clear their intentions of staying clear of the relegation dogfight this season and they have launched their campaign in style, defeating Sunderland and West Ham prior to holding Tottenham Hotspur to a 1-1 draw last weekend.
Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri has certainly carried on where Nigel Pearson left off, indeed the side have won all but three of their last thirteen outings in all competitions, their only defeat coming at the hands of Chelsea in late April. This record may be put to the test by a confident Bournemouth and we may see a few goals, however Leicester will continue to impress and cement their place near the top of the Premier League table for at least another week.
