Liverpool may have been busy in the summer transfer market but as yet it has returned little in the way of dividends. Their campaign to date has been underwhelming to say the least and they can consider themselves fortunate indeed to have managed seven points from their first three games. Nevertheless, the wheels have come off in their last three matches and a 3-0 loss to West Ham at Anfield was followed by a 3-1 defeat to arch-rivals Manchester United.

That result saw Brendan Rodgers slashed to just 11/8 to be the next top-flight manager to leave his post and many fans wouldn’t be sorry to see him leave, some even setting up a website aimed at raising the funds needed to pay him off.

Liverpool can put all their domestic worries behind them tonight however when they travel to south-western France in the Europa League. Bordeaux may not have made the best starts in Ligue 1 with just six points from the first five matches, however they will certainly provide tough opposition for Rodgers’ side.

The Liverpool boss will likely leave some of his key players out of this match, therefore we can expect to see a few fringe players who will be looking to make a decent impression on the manager. Coutinho may be making an appearance, the player continuing to serve a Premier League suspension and if he does start, we’ll be backing him to score anytime at 43/10 with 888sport.

The best bet for us is backing Liverpool to win and both teams to score at 5/1 with Bet365. The French side have scored in all but one of their last nine matches and they face a Reds team that have conceded six times in the last two matches. Bordeaux will find the net in this match but not enough times to deny the visitors the confidence-boosting win which they desperately need.

BETTING TIPS – Liverpool win, both teams to score – Bet365  5/1
