Nottingham Forest make the journey up to Lancashire this evening to take on Blackburn Rovers in a mid-table clash.

They certainly won’t be in for an easy ride against a Rovers side who have some impressive recent wins under their belt. Struggling Rotherham United were put to the side at Ewood Park last weekend, this result following on from an excellent 2-0 win away to Bristol City the weekend before.

Indeed, Paul Lambert’s side sit on the back of an unbeaten run of seven Championship games and they could move themselves closer to the play-off places with three points in front of the home fans this evening, given that the top half of the Championship table is very congested at present.

We believe that Rovers can edge past the visitors, although both sides will in for a tough challenge. Nevertheless, Lambert is now in charge of a side which has improved since a disappointing start to the campaign during which they failed to win in any competition until late September.

Following this 3-0 win against Charlton Athletic, Rovers went on to win just three more outings prior to the start of December, however Lambert will be confident of getting his third win since arriving at Ewood Park in mid-November.

They will face a Forest side which can also boast a decent run, the side avoiding defeat in four out of their last five outings. Their first game of December saw them run out 3-0 winners at home to Fulham and they followed this up with a creditable 1-1 draw at Molineux, Dexter Blackstock scoring in the 80th minute to force Wolves to settle for a share of the spoils.

The main problem for the visitors is their away form and with five defeats from their last ten games on the road, we won’t be backing them to get anything from this match against a Rovers side who are particularly solid at home with just two Championship defeats at Ewood Park so far this term. Back Blackburn Rovers to win at odds of 5/4 with BetVictor.

The next question is who will score Blackburn’s goals? We don’t need to look too far for our favoured choice with top Rovers scorer Jordan Rhodes on the search for his tenth goal of the season this evening at 17/10 with Betfair.
