Belgium v Italy tips for Group E clash at Euro 2016
Belgium attack might be snuffed out against an Italy side managed by the wily Antonio Conte
June 13th, 2016
Two years on from reaching the last eight of the 2014 World Cup, Belgium are hoping to build on that relative success by becoming one of the major forces at Euro 2016.
The squad have plenty of quality despite the absence of Vincent Kompany, with Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne the two notable in midfield, while there is plenty of firepower too.
However, Italy possibly have the best coach at the tournament even if Antonio Conte is short of quality attacking players that can really make an impact at this tournament.
Thankfully, he can call upon his wonderful four defensive Juventus players including the evergreen Gianluigi Buffon who has bags of experience and knows he will be protected.
Italy will know this is their toughest Group E opponent and play accordingly, with a point giving them a solid foundation before clashes against Ireland and Sweden.
Daniele De Rossi can hold together the midfield and Southampton’s Graziano Pelle can provide a sting in the tail, although few chances are likely to come his way.
