Bagging back-to-back wins against the German champions is a huge ask, however Arsenal plan to turn Group F on its head by doing just that when they travel to Bayern’s Allianz Arena tonight.

Arsene Wenger’s side recovered well from successive defeats in their Champions League opening games with a tremendous 2-0 victory over Bayern at the Emirates Stadium two weeks ago and they will be looking to emulate their impressive recent form when they clash again this evening.

The Gunners are sitting at the top of the Premier League alongside Manchester City following a winning run stretching five matches with clean sheets in all but two of their last six games across all competitions. They soaked up huge pressure against Bayern in their last meeting and will be bracing themselves for Pep Guardiola’s big guns tonight.

Bayern head the Group F table with a total of six points, ahead of Olympiakos on goal difference. The Gunners sit third with three points, however an Arsenal and Zagreb win tonight would leave all four sides on six points apiece heading into their fifth European matches.

The Bundesliga champions enjoy a five point lead at the top of their domestic table and will be looking to return to the sort of form which saw them hammer Zagreb 5-0 and Olympiakos 3-0 in their first two Champions League outings. They will certainly be out for revenge for their shock defeat two weeks ago and we expect them to do just that with Guardiola’s attacking trio of Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller and Douglas Costa providing Hector Bellerin and Per Mertesacker with a bag-load of problems to deal with.

Ok, so the Gunners will be heading into this encounter with their tails up, although Bayern contain a plethora of attacking talent and containing this threat in Germany will prove too much for Wenger’s side. Bayern’s excellent home record and desire to hold tight onto the top spot in Group F would suggest that they are looking good to claim full points tonight.
