Australia v Brazil Preview & Tips
Will Brazil head home from Australia with a win in the bag on Tuesday evening?
June 12th, 2017
Brazil’s showing in last summer’s Copa America was utterly dismal with the side exiting at the group stages of the tournament, however they have enjoyed considerable success in their qualifying campaign for next year’s World Cup with eight consecutive wins to their name. Indeed should they win against Ecuador and Colombia in the coming months then they will be packing their bags for the finals in Russia.
Brazil’s preparations for these upcoming games has included a trip to Australia and while a few key players are playing no part in their international friendlies thanks to recent Champions League involvement, coach Tite named a very strong line-up in the clash with Argentina in their last outing and he will certainly look to field a strong starting eleven against the Socceroos this week.
Brazil may be flying high in their World Cup qualifiers but things aren’t so rosy for Australia in that they are locked in a three-way battle with Japan and Saudia Arabia for the two automatic qualifying berths. The Aussies triumphed against Saudia Arabia and UAE but we feel that they will struggle when faced with the might of Brazil and one can’t be too confident of the home side’s chances of coming away with anything for their efforts.
We do expect a few goals however and with Brazil very short on the outright winner market as one would perhaps expect, we’ll be throwing in over 2.5 goals to boost the price up a bit. Brazil have been banging the goals in with reckless abandon in their World Cup qualifiers with 24 to their name in 8 games and we believe that they will have few problems in finding a way past an Australian rearguard which have failed to keep a clean sheet in all-but-one of their last six outings. That said we wouldn’t be surprised if the home side scored at some point in what looks set to be an entertaining affair.
