Aston Villa v West Brom Tips – Midlands battle will see visitors triumphant
Local bragging rights will be with the Baggies this weekend
September 18th, 2015
Aston Villa haven’t been setting this season’s Premier League alight, but then again neither have West Brom. Tim Sherwood’s men have managed a single win this term, whilst Tony Pulis’ Baggies have achieved the very same. It’s all to play for in this match then and we expect there to be a winner, and we believe that winner will be West Bromwich Albion.
The Baggies are, like Villa, still awaiting that one complete performance which the fans hope will give them a platform from which to launch a climb up the league table at this early stage of the campaign. Following defeats to Chelsea and Manchester City in the opening few weeks of the campaign, Pulis’ side have improved substantially which would suggest that the squad is becoming more comfortable with the manager’s methods following a series of changes during the summer transfer window.
Their first win of the season came against Stoke City and another point was secured when Southampton came to town last weekend. Ok, so the latter match won’t be remembered as a classic of the season, however a huge amount of defensive resilience was shown by the hosts on that occasion as they set out to prove that they aren’t among the candidates for relegation this term.
The Baggies showed their ambition by keeping hold of Saido Berahino and the player received a good reception as he made his appearance off the bench in last weekend’s clash with Southampton, surprising perhaps given that he claimed that he would never again play for the side.
Should Berahino rediscover his best form once again, this would provide Pulis with the spark in attack which his side desperately need in order to find the required wins. We believe that he will manage this at Villa Park this weekend and that this will be enough to separate the sides by the time the final whistle blows.
