Aston Villa have got ten points on the board from four games, with supporters quickly revising their expectations after expecting another scrap against relegation this term.

The Midlands club began the season with a 1-0 win at Stoke, having achieved the same result at Anfield last Saturday and these two victories book-end a goalless draw with Newcastle and a 2-1 victory against Hull.

Paul Lambert’s unbeaten side now face Arsenal and it’s good timing, with the Gunners walking wounded in defence and having just returned from a trip to Germany in the Champions League.

Arsene Wenger’s team were poor when losing 2-0 to Borussia Dortmund, with question marks over the finishing of Danny Welbeck and the effectiveness of Mesut Ozil.

Coral offer 4/1 about an Aston Villa victory and it’s a lumpy price when you consider the hatchet job that was done on Liverpool, with the Merseyside team having the lion’s share of possession but unable to do anything with it.

Philippe Senderos is enjoying himself at the heart of the Villa defence and should relish this contest against his former club, with the Swiss likely to man-mark Danny Welbeck.

Arsene Wenger is already counting the cost of injuries, with Nacho Monreal and Mathieu Debuchy both out of this match, while Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud remain sidelined and the same applies to Mikel Arteta.

Therefore, there is little value at backing the Gunners at odds-on, with a 1-1 draw at Leicester land a 2-2 draw at Everton illustrating that Arsenal don’t currently have that winning feeling on the road.

Villa’s gameplan for this match will be largely similar to the one at Anfield, with Lambert perhaps going for a more expansive brand of football considering the team are at home and full of confidence.

If you want the draw onside, you can get 23/20 with bet365 about a Villa win or a draw, while the Midlands club on the Draw No Bet market are a tasty 27/10.
