Arsenal v West Bromwich Albion tips: No easy task for Gunners on Boxing Day
Arsenal fans are once again revolting against Arsene Wenger and the Gunners boss will be desperate for a win on Boxing Day
December 21st, 2016
Just when things were going so well for Arsenal, they decide to throw away the lead in successive games to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The back-to-back defeats to Everton and Manchester City have severely dented Arsenal’s title aspirations and the usual comments are now resurfacing in that Wenger isn’t up to the task of mounting a serious challenge on the Premier League title.
It could well be the case that Wenger hasn’t made the correct decisions as regards summer signings and it could be that his key players are lacking somewhat, especially Mesut Ozil on occasion. Whatever the reason, one thing is for sure – Arsenal desperately need three points on Boxing Day.
They certainly won’t have it easy against a Baggies side who are performing better than many expected so far this season. Tony Pulis’ men sit eighth in the Premier League table as we rapidly approach the half-way stage of the campaign and with the side avoiding defeat in five of their last eight outings, they certainly won’t be rolling over when they visit the Emirates Stadium.
Indeed West Brom were impressive in their recent visits to Anfield and Chelsea with Pulis’ men only losing by single-goal margins against two of the biggest scoring sides in the Premier League. They are certainly putting in some of their best performances for many a season and we believe that they will make the Gunners work hard for their points on Boxing Day.
Nevertheless we do believe that Arsenal will grab for themselves a vital win in front of an increasingly disillusioned home support and whilst the Baggies should manage to find the back of the net at some point, we feel that it will be a purely consolatory effort in a Gunners victory.
