No team seems to come under the microscope more than Arsenal although Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck both delivered a riposte to their critics when scoring during a 3-0 win at Villa Park last weekend.

A midweek reverse in the Capital One Cup was excusable when you consider Arsene Wenger gave most of his first team the night off against Southampton, although it will be full Gunners blazing for Saturday’s derby against the enemy.

Arsenal are averaging two goals per Premier League game this season and their impressive performance when drawing 2-2 against Manchester City suggests they should have too much for a Tottenham team who are showing all the hallmarks of being another erratic outfit under Mauricio Pochettino.

It won’t be lost on the Argentine that his former Saints are second in the table after five games played and he has moved into a job with greater expectation levels.

Defeat in this match would see Spurs drop into the bottom half of the Premier League and Ladbrokes offer a tempting 4/5 about a win for the Arsenal, with Ozil set to pull the strings in the middle of the park.

That man Welbeck is out to prove a point after being sold by Manchester United and odds of 5/1 are available that the England forward breaks the deadlock and endears himself further to the Arsenal faithful.

This fixture conjures memories of high-scoring encounters although all three clashes last season featured two goals or less, with Tottenham looking to make themselves nice and compact for this encounter.

Spurs are potentially better on the road if results are any indication so far, with a 1-0 win achieved at Upton Park followed by a 2-2 draw with Sunderland.

The visitors are a 4/1 poke to claim victory although you can’t trust a team who are still feeling the effects of a post-Gareth Bale sale, even though Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado remain determined to make amends for a poor maiden season at White Hart Lane.
