Arsenal v Southampton tips – Saints set for another fall
The Gunners set to expose a Southampton team missing Morgan Schneiderlin
December 2nd, 2014
So much for Arsenal’s poor start to the season or Southampton’s flyer. Three points for the home side on Wednesday night and there will be just three points separating the two sides.
It’s a likely outcome considering that Arsene Wenger’s team are building up a head of steam thanks to victories over Borussia Dortmund and West Brom, with the much-maligned defence keeping clean sheets in both games.
Laurent Koscielny has been re-united with Per Mertesacker in central defence and bet365’s 4/5 about a home win looks decent enough value, while we can even chance our arm and back the 9/4 with Sky Bet that Arsenal win without conceding a goal.
After all, Southampton have been largely toothless in their past couple of matches, drawing 1-1 at Aston Villa before a 3-0 reverse against Manchester City and they will be missing Morgan Schneiderlin who picked up a thigh injury on Sunday.
Ronald Koeman’s side have played many of the lesser teams in the division although their limitations should be exposed by a side full of classy players including Alexis Sanchez, with the former Chilean making Arsenal tick very nicely at the Emirates.
Arsenal have enjoyed some big scoreline against Southampton in previous seasons and the 35/1 about a 4-0 win for the Gunners looks a tasty price with BetVictor, especially with Olivier Giroud joining Danny Welbeck in attack.
