Arsenal v Newcastle United tips – Magpies can stun Gunners
Arsenal are way too short to beat a Newcastle side who don’t lose many matches
December 11th, 2014
Many think that Arsenal will follow up Tuesday’s 4-1 win against Galatasaray with another facile victory on Saturday evening although that might be underestimating a Newcastle side who are level on points with the Gunners.
Alan Pardew has turned things around in dramatic fashion at St James’ Park and his Magpies team will be heading to the Emirates Stadium full of confidence after ending Chelsea’s unbeaten record last weekend.
We should also point out that Arsenal have won just three of their seven games at home this season, with Manchester United recently claiming victories at a ground that can hardly be described as a fortress.
Hull, Manchester City and Tottenham have all left with a point and it’s certainly not beyond Newcastle to do the same, especially when you consider that the Magpies have suffered defeat in just one of their past ten matches.
Moussa Sissoko has been in devilish form for the Tyneside club and Papiss Cisse’s brace against Chelsea will surely earn him a chance to test out an Arsenal defence that conceded three goals in the first half against Stoke City last weekend.
While Alexis Sanchez has been a revelation and Aaron Ramsey is returning to form following an injury lay-off, there will still be several absentees including Theo Walcott, Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere.
Steven Taylor’s suspension means that the visitors will have to reshuffle although Mike Williamson can deputise ably and this is a match in which Newcastle can secure at least a point.
