When the Gunners were drawn with Dynamo Zagreb, Olympiakos and Bayern Munich in their Champions League group, the belief was that Arsene Wenger’s would finish second to Bayern Munich in their quest for progress to the last sixteen of the competition, however following a disastrous campaign so far, Arsenal could be on the brink of a surprise exit and they now have a huge mountain to climb in the tournament.

“It leaves us in a bad position, but we are still in it,” Gunners boss Wenger insisted following defeat to Olympiakos. “We have to think that we can deal with Zagreb and Olympiakos away from home and we have to make a result in our next game at home. We are not out of it.”

Getting a decent result tonight against German giants Bayern Munich is a huge ask, given that the Bundesliga side are joint favourites to go all the way in the competition. As expected, tonight’s visitors have started their campaign in excellent fashion with two successive wins and eight goals scored without reply in the process. Hardly a surprise then that they start this match at the Emirates as firm favourites at 20/19.

Nevertheless, the German side haven’t been at their best on the road in recent years with just three victories in their last nine games on the road, therefore we would be cautious of backing them in north London this evening.

That doesn’t mean that there are few decent bets to be had on this match, the first of these being Both Teams to Score with 888sport going 4/6  for such an outcome. We’re also aware of the attacking threat which Bayern possess, star player Robert Lewandowski looking unstoppable this term although the hosts are extremely capable of finding gaps in a Bayern defence which has been top class so far in the competition.

We also recommend backing over 3.5 goals at 21/10 with BetVictor, given that the Gunners desperately need the win and will therefore be somewhat aggressive in their approach as they were against Manchester United recently. We’re not suggesting that they will score three goals in the opening 20 minutes again, however they can cause the visitors no end of problems and with ten goals in their previous three matches, they are a side firing on all cylinders at the moment.

This looks set to be a thoroughly entertaining encounter and full coverage is provided by BTSport Europe at 7:45pm tonight.

BETTING TIP – Over 3.5 Goals – BetVictor  21/10
