The FA Cup third round draw was relatively short of attractive ties although AFC Wimbledon v Liverpool was always bound to be a televised affair and the BBC have coverage this evening.

Wimbledon beat Liverpool in the 1988 FA Cup final before the club folded and were reincarnated as Milton Keynes Dons, although a new club outfit was born and AFC Wimbledon have now worked their way into the Football League.

The League Two side will be pumped up for tonight’s match and come into the game with good form, having won four of their last five games.

Boylesports go 13/1 about a win for the underdogs, with Neil Ardley looking to revive that Crazy Gang spirit, with Adebayo Akinfenwa excited to be lining up against a team that he’s supported all his life.

“It’s the biggest game, there is no bigger,” the 32-year-old said.

“I am a Liverpool supporter so even if I played in the Champions League final, this would be the biggest game.”

Akinfenwa, who is playing for his 11th club, added: “I was doing a dance in my living room when I saw the draw.

“As a Liverpool supporter, the three best feelings are: to play for the team, to play against the team and score against them. I have the opportunity to do two out of three.”

“I want to play against the best so I want to go toe-to-toe with Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho, Dejan Lovren and Kolo Toure,” said Akinfenwa.

“They are Premier league players and you want to be able to look back and say: ‘I pitted myself against the best and handled myself well’.

“If there’s a 50-50, hopefully I will come out on top. I would back myself… 100%.”

We are expecting goals tonight, with Liverpool looking to fill their boots and it’s plausible that we can see both sides finding the net.
